PAN-RB Ministry Aligns Governance with Global Standards
The government is pursuing various reform efforts to support Indonesia’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Aligning government policies and practices with global standards is expected to strengthen domestic reform and improve the quality of governance.
The Minister for Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) said bureaucratic reform was not simply a matter of restructuring systems and organisations, but a foundation for accelerating development and improving the quality of public services.
“Every change in the bureaucracy is expected to serve one main purpose: ensuring that all members of the public receive services that are accessible, fast, fair and high-quality,” Rini said, according to the PAN-RB Ministry website on Thursday (22 October 2026).
Rini stressed that the ultimate measure of bureaucratic improvement was the benefit experienced by the public. One example was the development of Public Service Malls (MPP), which bring together a range of services in one location.
During the two years of the Red and White Cabinet, 83 new MPPs have been established. In total, 313 regional governments now have an MPP, while 211 digital MPPs have been developed in various parts of the country.
The digital MPPs have also cut the time needed for health workers and medical personnel to access services from as long as a month to about an hour.
“MPP breaks the long chain of bureaucracy. People can access services in one building; this initiative saves them time and money,” Rini said.
