PAN Marks 28th Anniversary with Joint Prayers and Launch of Lapor PAN Programme
The National Mandate Party (PAN) held a thanksgiving and joint prayer event as part of its 28th anniversary celebrations. During the event, PAN offered prayers for the victims of the earthquake and forest and land fires (karhutla).
The event, attended directly by PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan, also known as Zulhas, was held centrally at the PAN Central Executive Board (DPP) office in South Jakarta on Sunday (23/8/2026).
“Today is exactly 23 August, 28 years ago PAN was born. Today we commemorate it modestly across Indonesia, online, under the theme PAN helps the people, a gift for the people. We are doing it simply, with all the capabilities we have, we give a gift to the people,” said Zulhas in his remarks.
The event began with the distribution of aid to 400 orphans and underprivileged children, which was symbolically handed over by Zulhas. Zulhas, together with cadres present on site and online, then held joint prayers for the victims of the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and the forest and land fires in Kalimantan.
The event was attended by a number of ministers, officials and PAN administrators, including PAN DPP Secretary-General Eko Hendro Purnomo, also known as Eko Patrio, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) Eddy Soeparno, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto, Deputy Minister of Transmigration Viva Yoga Mauladi, and former PAN Chairman Hatta Radjasa.
As part of PAN’s 28th anniversary celebrations, Zulhas introduced the Lapor PAN programme, which has been running since last month. Through this programme, PAN aims to assist communities facing food shortages, school fees and health problems.
“So if anyone reports a difficulty, we are ready, it has been prepared. If there are Indonesian children who cannot go to school because of financial difficulties, we have prepared scholarships. In short, in these 28 years, today and in the days ahead, we will help the people in our current situation, where we share with and help one another again,” said Zulhas.
He noted that the PAN anniversary events were being held modestly, given the occurrence of earthquakes and forest and land fires within the country. On the occasion, Zulhas also announced plans for a National Working Meeting (Rakernas), which is scheduled to be attended by President Prabowo Subianto next month in Jakarta.
“Today we, earlier, modestly and solemnly held joint prayers with the orphans. Later on 18 September we will officially hold the National Working Meeting of the National Mandate Party, the Rakernas. On 18 September, God willing, the President (President Prabowo) will attend,” he added.
