Chair of the PAN Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Putri Zulkifli Hasan, assessed that President Prabowo Subianto’s state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the DPR and Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) fostered national optimism.

“We appreciate President Prabowo’s speech. Its content is honest, grounded, and fosters public optimism ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence,” said Putri in a statement received in Jakarta on Friday.

According to Putri, the speech not only outlined the government’s achievements but also provided direction for the nation’s development journey.

She highlighted the national economic performance, which the President said grew by 5.61 percent in the first quarter of 2026 and 5.45 percent in the first half of 2026, described as the highest growth in the last 13 years.

“Amid global uncertainty, our economy has actually recorded its highest growth in 13 years. This is proof that the foundation built by the government is on the right track,” she said.

The achievement of food self-sufficiency also received appreciation from Putri. She assessed that the President’s recognition of farmers, agricultural extension workers, regional governments, as well as the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) demonstrated that this success was the result of mutual cooperation among various parties.

“Food self-sufficiency is the foundation of national sovereignty. The PAN Faction will continue to oversee efforts to ensure our food security remains robust, including in facing the threat of El Niño,” she said.

She stated that the achievement of food self-sufficiency was also inseparable from cross-ministerial coordination under the Coordinating Minister for Food, Zulkifli Hasan.

“That principle is what the Coordinating Minister for Food, who is also the General Chairman of PAN, upholds in carrying out the President’s directives,” she said.

Putri also welcomed the President’s support for ordinary citizens through the construction of the Merah Putih Fishermen’s Villages, which are targeted to reach 1,386 villages by the end of 2026.

On the other hand, she appreciated the President’s acknowledgement that not all national issues and campaign promises have been resolved. According to Putri, this stance reflects government accountability.

“A leader who is brave enough to convey what has and has not been achieved is a leader the people can trust,” she said.
