PAN Faction Leader: President Prabowo's Speech a Firm Direction for National Progress

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Chair of the PAN Faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Putri Zulkifli Hasan, has expressed appreciation for President Prabowo Subianto’s State Address delivered at the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI) and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) for 2026 at the Parliamentary Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8/2026).

According to Putri, the President’s speech was not merely a report on government achievements. More than that, the address provided clear direction for the nation’s journey.

“We appreciate President Prabowo’s speech. Its content is honest, grounded, and fosters public optimism ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence,” Putri stated in a written release on Friday (14/8/2026).

Putri highlighted the President’s presentation on national economic performance. Economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 was recorded at 5.61% and 5.45% for the first half of 2026, the highest in the past 13 years.

“Amid global uncertainty, our economy has actually recorded its highest growth in 13 years. This is proof that the foundation built by the government is on the right track,” she said.

Putri also noted the 121 transformative policies implemented by the government within 21 months. In her view, this pace of work must be matched by oversight to ensure the results reach the people.

Appreciation was also conveyed for the achievement of food self-sufficiency. Putri assessed that the President’s recognition of farmers, agricultural extension workers, regional governments, and the TNI-Polri confirms that this success is the fruit of mutual cooperation by all the nation’s people.

“Food self-sufficiency is the foundation of national sovereignty. The PAN Faction will continue to provide oversight to ensure our food security remains robust, including in facing the threat of El Niño,” she asserted.

These food achievements, Putri said, were also inseparable from cross-ministerial coordination under Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, who is also the General Chair of PAN. This ranged from strengthening the Red and White Cooperatives, safeguarding food supply and prices, to preparations towards the protein self-sufficiency target.

“For PAN, self-sufficiency is sovereignty, and food sovereignty must result in prosperity for farmers and fishers. That is the principle upheld by the Coordinating Minister for Food, who is also PAN’s General Chair, in carrying out the President’s directives,” she said.

The PAN politician welcomed the President’s support for ordinary people, including through the construction of Red and White Fishing Villages, which is targeted to reach 1,386 villages by the end of 2026.

Putri gave a positive note on the President’s honesty in acknowledging that not all national issues and campaign promises have been resolved. This attitude, she said, reflects a government that works with its feet on the ground.

“A leader who is brave enough to convey what has and has not been achieved is a leader the people can trust,” she said.

Concluding her statement, Putri called on all elements of the nation to use the momentum of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence to strengthen unity and mutual cooperation.
