PAN Faction Leader Praises Prabowo's Speech as Affirming Nation's Direction of Progress

Chair of the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction in the Indonesian House of Representatives, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, has praised President Prabowo Subianto’s State Address delivered at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday (14/8).

According to Putri, Prabowo’s speech was not merely a report on government achievements. More than that, the address provided clear direction for the nation’s journey.

“We appreciate President Prabowo’s speech. Its content was honest, grounded, and fostered public optimism ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence,” Putri said in a written statement on Friday (14/8/2026).

Putri highlighted Prabowo’s presentation on national economic performance. Economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 was recorded at 5.61 percent, and 5.45 percent for the first half of 2026, the highest in the past 13 years.

“Amid global uncertainty, our economy has actually recorded its highest growth in 13 years. This is proof that the foundation built by the government is on the right track,” she said.

Putri also noted the 121 transformative policies implemented by the government within 21 months. According to her, this pace of work needs to be matched with oversight to ensure the results reach the people.

Appreciation was also conveyed for the achievement of food self-sufficiency. Putri assessed that Prabowo’s recognition of farmers, agricultural extension workers, regional governments, and the TNI-Polri affirmed that this success was the fruit of collective effort by all Indonesians.

“Food self-sufficiency is the foundation of national sovereignty. The PAN faction will continue to oversee efforts to ensure our food security remains robust, including in facing the threat of El Niño,” she asserted.

Putri said the food achievements were also inseparable from cross-ministerial coordination under Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, who is also the General Chairman of PAN. This ranged from strengthening the Red and White Cooperatives, safeguarding food supply and prices, to preparations towards the protein self-sufficiency target.

“For PAN, self-sufficiency is sovereignty, and food sovereignty must result in prosperity for farmers and fishermen. That is the principle upheld by the Coordinating Minister for Food, who is also PAN’s General Chairman, in carrying out the President’s directives,” she said.

The PAN politician welcomed the President’s support for ordinary people, including through the construction of Red and White Fishermen’s Villages, which are targeted to reach 1,386 villages by the end of 2026.

Putri gave a positive note on Prabowo’s honesty in acknowledging that not all national issues and campaign promises have been resolved. This attitude, she said, reflects a government that works with its feet on the ground.

“A leader who dares to convey what has and has not been achieved is a leader the people can trust,” she said.

Concluding her statement, Putri called on all elements of the nation to use the momentum of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence to strengthen unity and mutual cooperation.
