PAN executive named suspect

BANDUNG: The Bandung Prosecutor's Office has detained National Mandate Party (PAN) deputy secretary-general Priyono Juniarsanto for alleged fraud in the construction of Antapani Tower.

Priyono and another suspect, identified only by the initials MS, have been detained at Kebon Waru prison since Sunday, the head of the prosecutor's office, Yusma Kusumah, said on Thursday.

He said the two suspects were detained over alleged fraud amounting to Rp 4.25 billion. The case involves the suspects' company PT Muhanaim Pilar Utama, which oversaw the construction project.

The suspects will be charged with violating articles 378 and 372 of the Criminal Code on fraud and embezzlement, which carry a maximum penalty of four years in jail. --JP
