The deaths of TNI soldiers serving in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) contingent have left a profound sorrow. They are Corporal (Praka) Rico Pramudia, Praka Bayu Prakoso, Praka Farizal Rhomadhon, and Praka Arif Kurniawan, who were killed in an Israeli missile attack.

This grief is also felt by the Secretary of the PAN DPR RI Faction, Ahmad Najib Qodratullah. He conveyed condolences over the passing of these national patriots on the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon.

The bodies of the TNI soldiers received a honour ceremony at Beirut–Rafic Hariri International Airport before being repatriated to Indonesia.

In the procession, UNIFIL troops carried the coffins of Captain Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Sergeant One Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and First Lieutenant Farizal Rhomadhon into the hangar. Photos of the three were displayed side by side with the flags of Lebanon and the UN.

The UNIFIL Mission Chief and Force Commander, Major General Diodato Abagnara, stated that they had not only lost peacekeeping personnel but also brothers. He also extended deep condolences to the victims’ families.

The UN is urged to take firm steps, from thorough investigations to imposing sanctions on those responsible.
