From Jurnal Indonesia
In relation to the recent increases in violence, the latest, a bomb blast at the Jakarta Stock Exchange Building killing 15 people and injuring many more, the National Mandate Party (PAN) hereby expresses the following: 1. PAN condemns all forms of violence committed for any reason. Acts of violence injuring humans can only possibly be committed by immoral and unreligious people. 2. The violent act at JSX seems to have been meant for hindering efforts for the recovery of people's livelihoods and the upholding of democracy by aiming at the sector directly engaging the international community, resulting in a bad image for Indonesian people. 3. The attempt to discredit the Indonesian people in the international eyes is a series of political power hegemony and the controlling of the economy carried out by a certain group. 4. To encourage and appeal to the police that they make investigations to identify the criminals by virtue of moral values, earnestness, transparency and professionalism in disclosing the objective facts of the cases. 5. PAN appeals that the government put more emphasis on the existence of moral standards both religious and secular which are at present recognized as having grown in the Indonesian community, so the people will have a standard in building the ethics of national life. 6. The government should put forward the security for all Indonesian people, and to this end PAN appeals for the upholding of law and the endeavor for the materialization of the other reform agenda be seriously carried out. 7. The violence and terrorism will not reduce let alone stop the reform supporters' efforts in realizing the cause of reform.
