PAN Appreciates Prabowo's Speech, Says Government's Foundation Is on the Right Track
President Prabowo Subianto’s State Address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) is considered to have further clarified the government’s policy direction in advancing national progress.
Chair of the PAN faction in the DPR, Putri Zulkifli Hasan, said the President’s speech was not merely a report on government achievements, but also provided a clear picture of the future direction of development.
“We appreciate President Prabowo’s speech. Its content is honest, grounded, and fosters public optimism ahead of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence,” Putri said in a written statement on Friday, 14 August 2026.
Putri also highlighted the national economic performance presented by Prabowo. Indonesia’s economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 was recorded at 5.61%, while growth in the first half of 2026 reached 5.45%.
According to Putri, these achievements show that the economic foundation built by the government is beginning to yield results. She assessed that this growth serves as important capital for advancing Indonesia in facing global economic challenges.
“Amid global uncertainty, our economy has actually recorded its highest growth in 13 years. This is proof that the foundation built by the government is on the right track,” she added.
In addition to economic performance, Putri also highlighted the 121 transformative policies that have been decided and implemented by the government over 21 months.
The daughter of Zulhas assessed that the acceleration of these policies must be accompanied by oversight so that their impact is truly felt by the public.
The PAN politician, who also serves as Deputy Chair of Commission XII of the DPR, also appreciated the government’s achievements in realising food self-sufficiency. The appreciation conveyed by the President to farmers, extension workers, regional governments, and the TNI-Polri was seen as demonstrating that this success is the result of collective effort.
“Food self-sufficiency is the foundation of national sovereignty. The PAN faction will continue to oversee efforts to ensure our food security remains robust, including in facing the threat of El Niño,” she asserted.
According to Putri, these achievements were also supported by cross-ministerial coordination under the Coordinating Ministry for Food, led by Zulkifli Hasan. A number of measures taken include strengthening the Red and White Cooperatives, maintaining food availability and price stability, and preparing protein self-sufficiency targets.
“For PAN, self-sufficiency is sovereignty, and food sovereignty must result in prosperity for farmers and fishermen. That is the principle upheld by the Coordinating Minister for Food, who is also PAN’s Chairman, in carrying out the President’s directives,” she said.
