Deputy Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Saleh Partaonan Daulay has agreed with President Prabowo Subianto’s remarks regarding the political coalition, expressing confidence that the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) shares the same heart as the government. He stated that the Prabowo administration has so far proceeded without any obstacles. Saleh initially noted that all political parties, including PDIP, possess their own philosophies and foundational struggles. He said that despite differing narratives and expressions, all are ultimately directed towards the interests of the nation and state, though the methods and mechanisms for realisation are implemented according to each party’s rules. “PDIP has also been in power before. At that time, all of its policies were directed towards accelerating development. All components of the nation were invited to participate,” Saleh said when contacted on Sunday (26/7/2026). Saleh stated that PDIP’s approach and views are the same as President Prabowo’s, namely inviting everyone to join. Even if PDIP currently remains outside the government, he said the administration must encourage the party to provide support through suggestions, input, and aspirations. “Criticism and evaluation do not always mean hatred or dislike. Sometimes, that is the best way to show affection,” he said. Furthermore, Saleh agreed with Prabowo’s sentiment that PDIP is of one heart with the government despite being on the outside. He noted that so far, everything has proceeded without hindrance. “Let’s take the positive side. So far, everything has been running without obstacles. Even at the elite party level, there are no issues,” he said. Previously, President Prabowo Subianto spoke about the condition of the political coalition during his administration, including the stance of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP). Prabowo said that PDIP actually shares the same heart as him. “So, brothers and sisters, competition is good. Competing is good. Sometimes we part ways, that’s not a problem. Later we will join together again,” Prabowo said during a speech at the 28th PKB Anniversary event at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday evening (23/7/2026). “PDIP also actually has the same heart as us, really, try checking, dig into their hearts. It’s actually the same,” he said.
