Pamekasan teachers benefit from Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG) for welfare and learning
Jakarta - Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) said several teachers in Pamekasan Regency, Central Java Province, are benefiting from the direct disbursement of the Teacher Professional Allowance (TPG), which enhances their welfare and drives innovation in school learning processes.
In a written statement issued in Jakarta on Sunday, several teachers at SDN Jalmak 1 in Pamekasan Regency said TPG funds were used to purchase learning support devices and integrate technology into classrooms to create more interactive and engaging learning experiences for students.
Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) teacher at SDN Jalmak 1, Dwi Arista Wardana, for instance, continues to develop lessons that are not only physically active but also help shape students’ character.
He added that interactive learning helps instil positive values useful in daily life.
To support this process, Dwi used TPG funds to buy a laptop now used as a teaching aid in PJOK classes.
“The impact of TPG has helped me innovate and prepare more creative and innovative teaching materials using a laptop. I am grateful that my PJOK classes are now more interactive, fostering collaboration and student participation in the teaching process,” Dwi said.
Similar benefits were experienced by SDN Jalmak 1 classroom teacher Sri Riana, who said TPG has significantly impacted both economic welfare and teaching quality development.
Amid rapid technological advancements, Sri has started introducing artificial intelligence (AI) to students using a tablet purchased with TPG funds.
With the device, she uses various educational games like Kahoot and Quizizz to create more enjoyable and participatory learning environments.
“With this tablet, I can now use educational games like Kahoot and Quizizz. Students are now much more enthusiastic about learning and no longer bored in class. I hope TPG continues so teachers can keep innovating in their teaching,” Sri said.
Not only in public schools, TPG benefits are also felt by private school teachers, such as Samsi, an Islamic Religious Education and Character Education teacher at SMP Plus Nurul Hikmah in Pamekasan Regency.
For him, TPG provides peace of mind in daily life and supports a more comfortable teaching and learning environment.
Besides economic support, he added TPG has also opened opportunities for him to enhance his competencies through various training, seminars, and professional development courses.
“I hope teachers’ welfare continues to improve, especially for private and contractual teachers who keep striving to teach. In reality, both civil servant and private teachers have the same duty and responsibility: to enlighten the nation’s life,” Samsi said.
