Pamekasan Regency Government deploys six tanker trucks for clean water aid

Pamekasan (ANTARA) - The Pamekasan Regency Government in East Java has deployed six tanker trucks to distribute clean water aid to villages affected by drought during the current dry season.

“Based on the data collection we conducted, the total number of villages experiencing drought and clean water shortages during this dry season is 82 villages, spread across 11 sub-districts out of a total of 13 sub-districts in Pamekasan Regency,” said Akhmad Dhofir Rosidi, Head of the Pamekasan Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), in Pamekasan on Friday.

He explained that the number of villages experiencing drought this time is higher than in 2025, which was only 76 villages.

“So, there is an increase of six villages compared to 2025,” he said.

In addition to the increase in the number of villages, the number of hamlets experiencing drought and clean water shortages has also increased.

“Thus, there is an increase of 40 hamlets experiencing drought during this dry season,” he said.

According to Rosidi, distribution is carried out every day and involves personnel from the Social Service and the Pamekasan Regency Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM).

In addition to distributing clean water aid, another effort being undertaken by the Pamekasan Regency Government to address drought and clean water shortages is drilling wells.

“This programme is a collaboration between the Pamekasan Regency Government and the central government through the Community-Based Drinking Water Supply and Sanitation (PAMSIMAS) programme,” he said.
