PAM JAYA’s transformation in expanding piped drinking water services in Jakarta is beginning to bear fruit.

The regional company has successfully achieved three Indonesian World Records (Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia/MURI) along with the Human Capital Award 2026 for the innovations and transformations undertaken by the company.

The awards were achieved amid PAM JAYA’s efforts to accelerate piped water infrastructure development to reach the target of 100 per cent service coverage for Jakarta residents by 2029.

The three MURI records obtained by PAM JAYA include the installation of the longest main clean water pipe in one year, the installation of the longest main pipe using the jacking method in a densely populated urban area, and the construction of the first clean water pipe that crosses beneath the Indonesia-China High-Speed Railway (KCIC) line.

Akhmad Santika, PAM JAYA’s Engineering Director, said the achievement was part of the company’s commitment to providing more extensive and reliable piped water services to Jakarta’s residents.

“PAM JAYA has been entrusted to serve 1.2 million customers with a pipeline network spanning 13,000 kilometres in Jakarta at present. In accordance with the Governor’s Regulation, we are also tasked with achieving 100 per cent service coverage by 2029. To support this target, PAM JAYA has prepared various pipeline network development projects and water supply improvement initiatives using technology that adapts to field conditions,” said Santika.
