PAM Jaya Promotes Use of Water Purifier to Reduce Plastic Waste
PAM Jaya’s participation forms part of its commitment to encouraging the public to adopt a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. In addition to appearing through mobile branding, PAM Jaya also distributed free tumblers to visitors as an invitation to reduce the use of single-use packaged drinking water.
Senior Manager of Corporate & Customer Communication at PAM Jaya, Gatra Vaganza, stated that the company supported the event through several activations that visitors could directly experience.
“PAM Jaya is supporting this event with mobile branding. We also have several activations here, such as the distribution of free tumblers and the Water Purifier,” Gatra told detikcom on Sunday (10/5/2026).
Promoting the Reduction of Plastic Waste
PAM Jaya also introduced the Water Purifier as one of its new products. This product is presented to support the reduction of packaged drinking water use, particularly in Jakarta.
Through the Water Purifier, piped water can be processed so that it can be drunk directly. The presence of this product is hoped to become one alternative for the public to reduce dependence on single-use plastic packaging.
“Coincidentally, this Water Purifier is our new product, as a support for reducing bottled drinking water in Jakarta. Essentially, the Water Purifier converts piped water so it can be drunk directly,” he said.
According to Gatra, PAM Jaya supports efforts to reduce the use of packaged drinking water because plastic waste and rubbish in Jakarta remain an environmental challenge.
“The hope going forward is that PAM Jaya strongly supports the reduction of bottled drinking water use, especially in Jakarta. Especially when seeing that plastic waste or rubbish is increasing, which automatically pollutes the environment,” he stated.
Introducing the Reconnection Programme
In addition to environmental activations, PAM Jaya also introduced the RPD or Reconnection Permanent Disconnection programme. This programme is aimed at former household customers who wish to reconnect access to clean water that was previously disconnected.
Through this programme, the public can once again enjoy clean water services with a lighter payment scheme. PAM Jaya also prepared a team at the event location to serve visitors who wish to consult regarding new connections or reconnections.
Gatra said the programme was also informed to visitors attending the 499th Jakarta Anniversary Launch event.
“We also announced it to several visitors here. If there are visitors who want a new connection or want to reconnect, there is also a team here,” he said.
Part of Collaboration Towards a Global Jakarta City
The 499th Jakarta Anniversary Launch event was held in commemoration of Jakarta heading towards five centuries. The event was also attended by elements from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, central government, ambassadors, communities, business actors, and the general public.
Through participation in this event, PAM Jaya aims to support the movement for a cleaner and more sustainable Jakarta. Activations such as tumbler distribution, introduction of the Water Purifier, and the reconnection programme become part of efforts to expand access to clean water while promoting the reduction of plastic waste in Jakarta.
