PAM JAYA Holds Union Gathering to Strengthen Internal Synergy and Harmony
Through the Union Gathering, PAM JAYA sought to enhance communication, strengthen solidarity, and align commitments among labour unions to build harmonious, dynamic, and equitable industrial relations. The event also served as a key momentum to support PAM JAYA’s transformation as a regional public company (Perseroda) and strengthen collaboration towards the target of 100% piped drinking water services for all Jakarta residents.
Purnomo, Head of Industrial Relations and Worker Welfare at the DKI Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration, and Energy Office, appreciated the event as a communication platform that can strengthen relations among labour unions within PAM JAYA. “We appreciate this activity as a forum for communication among labour unions at PAM JAYA. Good communication will strengthen solidarity in uniting the vision and mission, which is to realise 100% drinking water services for Jakarta residents. Therefore, the continuity of activities like this must be maintained so that all parties can work together to achieve common goals,” Purnomo said in a statement on Saturday (18/7/2026).
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the PDAM Jakarta Labour Union (SP PDAM Jakarta), Fachmi Islam, stated that the Union Gathering plays a vital role in maintaining harmonious industrial relations between the company and labour unions. According to him, the synergy built will serve as a foundation to support the company’s transformation while improving services to the public. “We are committed to maintaining harmonious industrial relations and continuing to build collaboration with all parties to create productivity and a conducive work environment. This spirit of togetherness was also realised through the merger of SPAJ into SP PDAM Jakarta, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement on 8 July 2026. We believe that the more solid the labour union, the stronger the support for PAM JAYA’s transformation and the target of drinking water services for all Jakarta residents,” Fachmi said.
In a similar vein, the Chairman of PUK SPDT FSPMI PAM JAYA, Dwy Wisnu Bagus Priyanto, emphasised that the Union Gathering is an important momentum to unite the spirit of all worker elements in facing the company’s transformation. “We fully support all strategic programmes carried out by PAM JAYA’s management, especially in efforts to achieve the 100 percent drinking water service coverage target for Jakarta residents. The company’s progress is also part of the welfare of all workers,” Wisnu said.
On the other hand, SPAJ Chairman Hari Kusmanto assessed that a harmonious relationship between the company and workers is a crucial foundation for creating better productivity and performance. According to him, the synergy and consolidation that are continuously maintained will become a collective strength in supporting PAM JAYA’s progress.
The event was attended by four labour unions within PAM JAYA, namely SP PDAM Jakarta, SPAI PDAM Jaya, SPAJ, and PUK SPDT FSPMI PAM JAYA, along with PAM JAYA management and representatives from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Through the 2026 Union Gathering, PAM JAYA and all labour unions reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining harmonious industrial relations, strengthening collaboration, and moving forward together in supporting the company’s transformation to provide reliable drinking water services for Jakarta residents.
