PAM Jaya Excavation Works in Kalideres Temporarily Closed During Eid al-Fitr Holidays to Reduce Congestion
JAKARTA — Ahead of the homecoming period and the Eid al-Fitr holidays, all PAM Jaya pipe excavation works on Jalan Peta Selatan to Jalan Satu Maret in Kalideres, West Jakarta, will be temporarily closed. The move is intended to ease congestion and prevent floods caused by lane narrowing. Ferdian Avrizal, Senior Manager UPL PAM Jaya, said they have prepared a plan to pause the works temporarily. He explained that the project is part of the installation of clean water infrastructure for Jakarta residents and is targeted to finish by the end of April 2026. Since November 2025, the project has occupied a portion of the road, often causing congestion, especially on Jalan Peta Selatan which is traversed by large vehicles such as trucks and buses. “Indeed the route here is congested,” said Didit. He added that heavy rain often causes the excavations to overflow and flood the road, worsening the congestion.
