PAM Jaya Distributes Free Water Tanks to Jakarta Residents
PAM Jaya, through the Daya Wanita PAM Jaya and the PKK Driving Team for Empowerment, Welfare and Family of DKI Jakarta Province, is continuing a programme to distribute free water tanks to Jakarta residents. The assistance aims to help residents maintain household water availability, particularly in areas still experiencing unstable water pressure.
Hani Pramono Anung, Chair of the DKI Jakarta PKK Driving Team, inspected the distribution of 500 free water tanks for Central Jakarta residents in Matraman Dalam. The event was also attended by the Chair of the DKI Jakarta Women’s Organisation Cooperation Agency, the Chair of the DKI Jakarta Dharma Wanita Persatuan, the Chair of the DKI Jakarta Dharma Wanita Persatuan for the Regional-Owned Enterprises Development Agency, the President Director of PAM JAYA, and the Chair of Daya Wanita PAM JAYA.
Hani stated that the tanks distributed in Central Jakarta were allocated to several sub-districts, with Menteng receiving 170 tanks as the largest recipient due to areas still experiencing low water pressure. Other tanks were distributed to Karang Anyar, Kartini, Duri Pulo, Kampung Bali, Tanah Tinggi, and Kebon Kosong sub-districts. This distribution is part of an effort to provide 5,000 free water tanks throughout 2026 through a collaboration between the DKI Jakarta PKK Driving Team and Daya Wanita PAM JAYA. Previously, 1,000 free tanks were distributed from January to May 2026, bringing the total received by the community to 1,500 as of 13 July 2026. The remaining 3,500 tanks will be distributed in stages across all areas of DKI Jakarta.
Hani Pramono Anung expressed appreciation for the collaboration with Daya Wanita PAM JAYA and other contributing parties. She noted that the programme is a form of care that provides direct benefits to the community by maintaining household water security, supporting family health, and helping to ease the economic burden on residents. She expressed hope that the collaboration will continue so that more families across Jakarta can benefit from improved water access.
Juliana, a resident receiving a water tank in Matraman Dalam, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the programme, stating it has helped provide quality water for daily activities. Another resident, Kenny, an elderly person who previously had to collect water using buckets every day, said the free water tank has been very helpful. With the new tank, Kenny can now enjoy quality water at any time without having to wake up early to collect it. Juliana added that as a customer of 30 years, she previously only stored water in buckets, but now has a proper storage facility that is cleaner, safer, and more reliable, making daily activities much easier. She said the assistance is extremely useful and that residents are happy with the programme.
