PAM Jaya continues free water tank distribution programme for residents
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PAM Jaya is continuing its programme of distributing free water tanks to residents of Jakarta, in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding between the TP PKK of the Jakarta Provincial Government and Daya Wanita PAM Jaya regarding community social assistance.
The Director General of PAM Jaya, Arief Nasrudin, said that this programme is part of an effort to improve the quality of service from the customer’s perspective.
“We understand that access to water is not only about the pipeline network, but also about how that water can be stored and used properly in people’s homes,” said Arief in Jakarta, Thursday.
The recipients of this programme are PAM Jaya customers in categories 2A1 and 2A2 with building areas of less than 70 square metres, so that the assistance can be targeted and reach people who really need support for water storage facilities.
Through this free water tank programme, Arief said that they are greatly assisted by the collaboration with the TP PKK, so that PAM Jaya can help families in Jakarta to have a more secure and stable water reserve, especially in areas that are far from the supply.
“Likewise, the free new connection programme for 2A1 and 2A2 customers aims to make it easier for every resident to access water. The target of 2,000 water tanks by 2026 is a form of our commitment to ensure that the benefits are felt more widely and evenly,” said Arief.
For Arief, the goal is simple, but has a big impact, namely helping to ensure the availability of quality water in every customer’s home, especially for residents who are in areas far from the water supply or have limited water pressure.
The initial phase of the programme has realised the distribution of 100 water tanks in the Padamulya, Angke area, West Jakarta. Currently, 150 water tanks are being distributed to residents in the Kamal sub-district, Kalideres district, West Jakarta.
The distribution will continue to other areas in stages so that the benefits can be felt more widely.
Through collaboration with the TP PKK, the Jakarta Provincial Government, and various local elements, as well as PAM Jaya, it is hoped that this programme will not only be a physical assistance, but also part of strengthening water resilience at the household level and supporting the quality of life of Jakarta residents in a sustainable manner.
