PAM JAYA Awards Jakarta Water Hero 2026 to Change-Makers
PAM JAYA has once again held the Jakarta Water Hero (JWH) 2026 awards, themed ‘From Real Action, Into a Joint Movement’, to appreciate customers, communities, businesses, and government agencies that contribute to supporting piped water usage, water source conservation, and equitable access to drinking water services in Jakarta.
This programme serves as a catalyst to strengthen collaboration among various parties in realising sustainable piped water services, while encouraging more tangible actions that benefit the environment and the citizens of Jakarta.
PAM JAYA President Director Arief Nasrudin stated that Jakarta Water Hero is a form of appreciation for customers and various parties who have supported PAM JAYA’s programmes, as well as a push for wider use of piped water as the main water source for Jakarta’s community. ‘Through the theme “From Real Action, Becoming a Joint Movement”, we want to invite all parties to continue strengthening collaboration in supporting water security, service equity, and accelerating the target of 100% piped drinking water service coverage in Jakarta. We believe every contribution made will provide great benefits for Jakarta’s future,’ Arief said in a statement on Saturday (27/6/2026).
Jakarta Water Hero has been held since 2023 and this year marks its fourth edition. The programme appreciates customers and various parties who support the use of piped water, service equity, and the implementation of the Groundwater Free Zone (ZOBAT). Through JWH, PAM JAYA also encourages the achievement of the 100% piped drinking water service coverage target in accordance with DKI Jakarta Governor Regulation No. 48 of 2025, as well as strengthening collaboration with customers and stakeholders in supporting sustainable water security.
During the event, DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and PAM JAYA received a Museum Rekor Dunia Indonesia (MURI) award for the category ‘Most Drinking Water Pipe Connections to Customers in One Year’ for the achievement of adding 206,037 house connections in 2025. This award serves as evidence of the acceleration of piped drinking water service expansion carried out by PAM JAYA for the people of Jakarta.
