JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Perusahaan Umum Daerah (Perumda) PAM JAYA has apologised for the clean water project excavation on Jalan Raya Condet, which has caused traffic congestion.

Senior Manager of Corporate and Customer Communication at PAM Jaya, Gatra, expressed his apology for the inconvenience caused to road users.

“In this case, we would like to apologise in advance for the inconvenience, especially to road users in the Condet area,” said Gatra when confirmed on Thursday (26/2/2026).

“We can say that the target is to close and normalise the situation by early March,” said Gatra.

Gatra also responded to complaints about the uneven condition of the excavated areas. According to him, the public can report if the road condition has not returned to its original state.

“This is one of the things we will fix. If, after it is closed, there are still parts that are not properly done, you can contact us directly. We will immediately follow up on this to make repairs to the closed areas,” he added.

In addition, PAM Jaya will issue a warning to the project implementer if they do not prioritise worker safety.

“So, starting from barricades, project boards, flagmen, these should be in place. We are also communicating this with the contractor to ensure that these disturbing things, which cause inconvenience, can be minimised,” he said.

The work, which has been ongoing for about two weeks, has taken up one lane of the road, causing vehicles to pass alternately.

Based on Kompas.com’s monitoring on Thursday (26/2/2026), there are several excavation points on the left lane from the direction of Pusat Grosir Cililitan.

Although the distance between the excavations is not close, they are all on the same side and disrupt traffic flow.

Two heavy equipment excavators were seen operating at two different locations.

Around the project area, soil is scattered, causing dust.
