PAM JAYA and DKI Jakarta PKK Empowerment Team Distribute 357 Free Water Tanks in East Jakarta
The Women’s Empowerment Group of the PAM JAYA Drinking Water Company, together with the DKI Jakarta Provincial PKK Empowerment and Family Welfare Team, distributed 357 free water tanks or tanks at the RW 08 Community Hall in Pulo Gebang, Cakung, East Jakarta, on Thursday (7/5/2026).
The tanks were given to residents of East Jakarta spread across the Pulomas, Gudang Air, and Klender areas.
The free water tank distribution programme is part of an agreement between the PAM JAYA Women’s Empowerment Group and the DKI Jakarta PKK Team, targeting the distribution of 5,000 tanks throughout DKI Jakarta in 2026.
Of that target, 1,000 tanks have been distributed to communities in various parts of DKI Jakarta from January to 7 May 2026.
This is because some families in DKI Jakarta still face difficulties in obtaining quality clean water at home, especially residents living in areas with unstable water pressure. They must store water to meet daily household needs.
In addition to helping residents store water reserves, the programme also aims to maintain household water resilience, improve family health, and alleviate the economic burden on communities still reliant on buying water in jerry cans.
Through the distribution of these tanks, PAM JAYA wants to ensure that the community has more guaranteed water availability at home, said Arief.
In addition to the tank distribution, the event was also filled with the symbolic handover of rice aid to representatives of the local PKK Team and Dasawisma, as well as direct visits to the homes of beneficiary residents.
The event was attended by the Chair of the DKI Jakarta PKK Team, Hani Pramono Anung; the Deputy Chair of the DKI Jakarta PKK Team, Dewi Rano Karno; the Chair of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Dharma Wanita Persatuan, Lisniawati Uus; the Chair of the PAM JAYA Women’s Empowerment Group, Lya Arief Nasrudin; and the East Jakarta City Government PKK Team.
The presence of the DKI Jakarta PKK Team officials serves as support for the ongoing collaborative efforts to assist the community.
