PAM Jaya Aims to Complete Condet Excavation Project by Early March 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Perusahaan Umum Daerah (Perumda) PAM Jaya has assured that the excavation project on Jalan Raya Condet, East Jakarta, will be completed by early March 2026.
“We can confirm that our target is to close and restore the area by 1st March,” said Senior Manager of Corporate & Customer Communication at PAM Jaya, Gatra, when contacted on Thursday (26/2/2026).
“We would like to apologise in advance for the inconvenience caused, especially to road users in the Condet area,” Gatra added.
He assured that the excavated areas will be repaired to their original condition.
However, if there are still uneven road surfaces after the closure, the public is asked to report it.
“This is one of the things we will fix. If, after the closure, there are still issues with the work, you can contact us directly. We will immediately follow up and carry out the necessary repairs,” he continued.
In addition, PAM Jaya will issue a warning to the contractor if they do not prioritise worker safety.
“This includes barricades, project signs, and flagmen, which should all be in place. We are also communicating with the contractor to ensure that these issues, which cause inconvenience, can be minimised,” he said.
The work, which has been ongoing for about two weeks, has taken up one lane of the road, causing vehicles to take turns passing through.
Based on Kompas.com’s observation on Thursday (26/2/2026), there are several excavation points on the left lane from the direction of Pusat Grosir Cililitan.
Although the distance between the excavations is not close, they are all on the same side and disrupt traffic flow.
Two excavators were seen operating at two different locations.
Around the project area, soil is scattered, causing dust.
