Palu Immigration Office Transfers Filipino Detainee to Manado Detention House
Palu (ANTARA) - The Class I TPI Immigration Office in Palu, Central Sulawesi, has transferred a detainee, a Filipino national, from the Palu Immigration Detention Room to the Manado Immigration Detention House in North Sulawesi. The detainee, named Rowel Ogsoc Rebatool, works as a fisherman and was previously secured after being found stranded in Buol Regency. The Head of the Palu Class I TPI Immigration Office, Muhammad Akmal, stated in Palu on Monday that this step is a follow-up to the handling of the foreign national found stranded in Buol Regency. “Today, we are directly escorting the transfer process of the Filipino national who was stranded in Buol. The journey is being made by land from Palu to the Manado Immigration Detention House,” he said. He explained that the transfer process was carried out with direct escort by officers from the Palu Class I TPI Immigration Office to ensure security and smoothness during the journey until arrival at the Manado Immigration Detention House. “Even in the midst of the Lebaran holiday atmosphere, the immigration authorities remain committed to carrying out their duties in immigration services and supervision optimally,” he said. He noted that the escort was conducted by two officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section (Inteldakim). He elaborated that upon arrival in Manado, the administrative processes and handling of travel documents for repatriation to the Philippines will be managed by the Manado Detention House in coordination with the Philippine Consulate. He also reaffirmed the commitment of the Palu Class I TPI Immigration Office to continue carrying out immigration duties and functions professionally and to strengthen oversight of the presence and activities of foreigners in its jurisdiction.
