The Palu Class I TPI Immigration Office is preparing immigration inspection services at Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Airport to support the operation of international flights scheduled to commence on 6 August 2026. Mursalim, Head of the Immigration Traffic Section at the Palu Immigration Office, stated on Friday that all immigration inspection facilities and infrastructure have been prepared, including the placement of equipment coordinated with airport management. He confirmed that the immigration inspection system has undergone testing, and the Palu Immigration Office will conduct a final simulation before the inaugural international flight. The first international route will serve Palu–Guangzhou, China, using Garuda Indonesia, following the restoration of Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Airport’s international status. Officers have prepared inspection mechanisms for all arriving and departing international passengers, including procedures for handling passengers on the prevention and prohibition list or those who do not meet travel document requirements. Airport authorities have also indicated plans for China Southern Airlines flights on 11 August 2026, though the Palu Immigration Office is awaiting official notification from the airline before arranging further operational support. According to Mursalim, the opening of these international routes is expected to support increased connectivity, investment, trade, and the tourism sector in Central Sulawesi.
