Acting Assistant II for Economic Affairs and Development at the Palu City Regional Secretariat, Rahmad Mustafa, said in Palu on Wednesday that the activity is principally aimed at providing space for business operators, including MSMEs and traders who previously sold goods during Car Free Day events, to continue participating during Ramadan.

The activity will be held every Saturday evening throughout Ramadan in the Jalur 2 area around Vatulemo Field, Palu City, from 20:00 WITA until approximately 02:00 WITA.

The programme is one of a series of Ramadan activities facilitated by the Palu City Government to support community economic activity.

"This concept has been introduced to provide an alternative activity for the public after performing tarawih prayers, whilst simultaneously driving local economic circulation through the culinary sector," he said.

The city government will also officially announce the exact location through the Palu City Government's social media channels. MSME operators interested in participating may register through the Palu City MSME Agency.

In addition to the night market programme, the local government is also ensuring the implementation of an afternoon Ramadan Market centred at the Palu Mayor's Office grounds, running daily throughout the month of Ramadan.

This activity is focused on facilitating MSME operators and takjil (pre-iftar snack) vendors in meeting public demand ahead of the breaking of the fast, as has been the practice in previous years.
