Palu attack victims moved to Jakarta

PALU, Central Sulawesi: Lecturer Pudji Sulaksono and his wife
Novlin Palinggi, who were shot by unidentified assailants here on
Nov. 19, are being treated at Cikini Hospital in Central Jakarta.

The two were transferred from Undata Hospital in Palu on
Saturday by a commercial plane after undergoing operations.

They were attacked by mysterious men on Jl. Untad on their way
home from attending a church service in the Central Sulawesi
capital.

Pudji, who lectures at Tadulako University, and Novlin
survived the attack with serious shot wounds.

Undata Hospital head of medical services Maarif said the
couple were transferred to Cikini to get specialist treatment
from orthopedic doctors.

The couple are among Christian residents targeted in recent
attacks in Poso and Palu, Central Sulawesi, where two years of
sectarian fighting came to an end in 2001. --Antara
