Palti Hutabarat Receives Shipment of Dog's Head Corpse
Social media activist Palti Hutabarat received a terror threat in the form of a shipment of a dog’s head corpse from an unknown individual at his parents’ home in Namo Rambe Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra, on Wednesday morning, 18 March 2026. Palti, who was in Jakarta, learned of the incident through photos and videos sent by his sibling via the family WhatsApp group.
The documentation showed a brown-furred dog’s head that had been decapitated, lying uncovered in front of the house. According to Palti, on Tuesday night, 17 March 2026, his sibling heard a sound of something falling in front of the house but only checked it the next morning.
“On Wednesday morning, Mum woke up my sibling to check what object was in front of the house. That was the dog’s head that my sibling sent to the family WhatsApp group,” said Palti when contacted on Thursday, 19 March 2026.
The PDI-P cadre explained that the sender of the corpse could not be traced because the surveillance camera at the security post was broken. There were also no surveillance cameras around the house.
From information gathered from the complex’s security head, it was stated that residents active until Tuesday at 23:00-00:00 WIB did not notice any suspicious individuals. He suspects the perpetrator sent the dog’s head before 23:00 or after midnight.
The corpse has now been taken by the security coordinator to be reported to the local security commander. As for precautions from the complex’s security, patrols to his house are conducted every night.
Palti views the dog’s head corpse as an attempt to terrorise him, as he has frequently criticised President Prabowo Subianto’s government policies on social media. He suspects the terror aims to make him stop producing content containing criticism.
“If you look at my content that often criticises the government, especially directly at Mr Prabowo, my suspicion is that it’s possibly to instil fear,” said Palti.
He hopes the case he is experiencing will be investigated by law enforcement authorities because it has caused fear and anxiety for his family. Moreover, said Palti, this terror occurred after KontraS activist Andrie Yunus was attacked with caustic liquid on Thursday night, 12 March 2026.
He is also worried about an increase in terror similar to what influencer Ramond Dony or DJ Donny experienced, who received a chicken corpse on Monday night, 29 December 2025, and had his house thrown with a Molotov cocktail two days later.
“My family already knows that I am currently very harsh in criticising the government. The family is more worried about my condition because escalation of terror could happen like what DJ Donny or Andrie Yunus experienced,” he said.
Palti recounted that several days before the dog’s head shipment, he received other terrors. First, there was an unknown person asking about the whereabouts of the occupants of his parents’ house on Wednesday last week, 11 March 2026. Then, on Friday, 13 March, a fictitious shopping package arrived at his parents’ house with cash on delivery payment method.
Then, on Saturday, 14 March 2026, a courier also delivered a package in the name of his late father to his parents’ house. Because he suspected those shopping packages contained threats, he asked the family not to open them and return them to the courier.
Palti’s suspicion arose after he received terror via WhatsApp messages from foreign numbers on 25 February 2026. The messages from two different numbers attached images with a photo of Palti accompanied by red writing accusing him of being a hoax spreader. One sentence in the image read “Palti Hutabarat Antek Banteng Seruduk Sana-Sini”.
Currently, Palti is receiving assistance from the PDI-P People’s Legal Aid and Advocacy Agency or BBHAR. BBHAR PDI-P condemned the shipment of animal corpse terror to Palti, especially occurring in the month of Ramadan.
“We urge law enforcement authorities to immediately uncover this case and arrest the perpetrators,” said BBHAR PDI-P member Wiradarma Harefa when confirmed on Wednesday night, 18 March 2026.
