Joy was felt by teachers and pupils at SDN 07 Pagi Palmerah, West Jakarta, after receiving the benefits of Makan Bergizi Gratis (MBG), distributed by the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) Polri. The happiness was evident in the pupils’ growing enthusiasm to attend school since the MBG programme began.

Eva Rodiani Agustina, the principal of SDN 07 Pagi Palmerah, said the school has been receiving MBG benefits for a month. She expressed her gratitude to President Prabowo Subianto. ‘Alhamdulillah the benefits are tangible, alhamdulillah it’s really wonderful. Thank you, Mr Prabowo,’ she told detikcom at SDN 07 Pagi Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

Eva explained that the MBG benefits are not only felt by the children and the school, but also by the parents. Since MBG arrived at the school, parents no longer prepare breakfast for their children, which has helped reduce household expenses. ‘Especially the parents. They used to wake up early to prepare breakfast or bring snacks, but now they don’t because of MBG, they say, ’Just MBG, ma’am’,’ she recounted.

During Ramadan, children are given MBG wrapped in convenient packaging so they can take it home to eat at iftar. Eva said the MBG iftar menu remains eagerly awaited by her students.

The pupils were so enthusiastic to receive the MBG iftar menus from SPPG Polri Palmerah that they often request different menu variants. ‘They still like it, since it’s only been a week. The children say, ’Ma’am, can we have this one again? The ones like practical biscuits that can be eaten at home at Maghrib,’ Eva explained.

One of the homeroom teachers, Rosiawati, known as Bu Rosi, also noted that the children in her class, Class II, always ask that MBG be provided every day. ‘They are very happy. They even say, ’Ma’am, can we have it on Tuesday too?’’

Rosi added that her pupils enjoy the MBG menus from SPPG Polri Palmerah, including Ramadan menus. She noted that during Ramadan, the children and parents tend to prefer dry foods that can last until iftar, and this demand was accommodated by SPPG Polri Palmerah. ‘They like them, you can see. Sometimes before Ramadan they say, ’Oh, the menu is delicious’ – indeed, they like that. Yes, dry foods because they last longer,’ Rosi said.
