Palm oil output down

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Malaysia's crude palm oil output fell
13.11 percent to 503,436 tons in February from 579,366 in January
and against 427,877 in February 1996, the Palm Oil Registration
and Licensing Authority (PORLA) said over the weekend.

February palm oil exports were 376,885 tons against 553,306 in
January and 432,420 in February 1996, it said.

PORLA said Peninsular Malaysia's crude palm oil output fell
8.20 percent to 378,218 tons in February from 411,984 in January
and 338,411 in February 1996.

Output from east Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak fell
25.19 percent to 125,218 tons in February from 167,382 in January
and against 89,466 in February 1996.
