Palm Oil Industry Prospects Bright for 2026, MKTR Targets IDR 1.39 Trillion Revenue
Plantation and palm oil processing company PT Menthobi Karyatama Raya Tbk (MKTR) recorded an increase in production and sales during the first quarter of 2026. Finance and Investment Director Wawan Sulistyawan stated that crude palm oil (CPO) production grew by 15.30 per cent to 18,588 tonnes, compared to 16,121 tonnes in the same period the previous year. There was also an increase in palm kernel (PK) production of 13.10 per cent, followed by a rise in Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO) to 1,619 tonnes compared to 1,536 tonnes, as well as Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) which grew from 1,746 tonnes to 1,897 tonnes. In line with this situation, during Q1 2026 MKTR recorded revenue growth of 20.25 per cent to IDR 322.801 billion, compared to IDR 267.674 billion in the same period the previous year. Consequently, profit before income tax was also recorded as increasing by 35.6 per cent to IDR 15.018 billion in the first three months of 2026, compared to IDR 11.069 billion a year earlier. Wawan added that the company also posted an increase in net profit of 40.88 per cent to IDR 8.73 billion in Q1 2026, compared to IDR 6.199 billion in Q1 2025. “We at MKTR are optimistic that the national palm oil industry will continue its positive growth throughout 2026,” he said. He affirmed that the company will remain focused on its established strategy, ranging from asset optimisation and increasing production capacity to creating added value through various green industry-based innovations. With these achievements, Wawan emphasised that throughout 2026, MKTR is targeting to process 336,400 tonnes of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB), with CPO production of 73,292 tonnes. Meanwhile, Palm Kernel is projected at 15,031 tonnes. “Throughout 2026, MKTR’s sales are estimated to reach IDR 1.39 trillion,” he said.
