PT Jambi Semesta Biomassa has successfully exported palm kernel shell to Japan on 14 March 2026. Using the vessel MV Puwa Bitoon, the company shipped 11,000.15 metric tonnes of palm kernel shell, generating foreign exchange earnings of USD 1,023,013.95.

The export also contributed to government revenues through export duties totalling IDR 1,486,077,000. Additionally, palm levies collected amounted to IDR 928,798,000.

Dawny Marbagio, Head of the Parepare Customs Office, stated that the palm kernel shell exports by PT Jambi Semesta Biomassa have made a positive contribution to government revenues. The activity also supports increased national export activity, particularly in West Sulawesi Province.

Officials expect that increased export activity will drive regional economic growth through heightened demand for local commodities and the creation of employment opportunities for surrounding communities. Marbagio noted that with the support of rapid customs services and clear procedural certainty, more businesses will be encouraged to leverage the region’s export potential to access international markets.
