Paljaya Introduces Various CSR Programmes to Help Residents Access Proper Sanitation
One of the CSR programmes implemented by Paljaya involves the provision and construction of BIOPAL septic tanks, which are designed to assist communities in managing domestic wastewater more safely. These septic tanks serve as a solution for residential areas in need of improved wastewater treatment systems. In addition to facility construction, Paljaya also provides education to residents regarding environmental sanitation maintenance and the importance of proper household wastewater management.
The President Director of Paljaya, Untung Suryadi, stated that this programme is part of the company’s efforts to support the improvement of public sanitation quality. “Good sanitation is an essential foundation for environmental health. Through this CSR programme, we want to help the community obtain more adequate wastewater treatment facilities while simultaneously increasing awareness about the importance of safe sanitation for the environment,” Untung said in a written statement on Monday (18/05/2026).
Paljaya believes that improving sanitation quality cannot be achieved by a single party alone. Therefore, Paljaya is also opening opportunities for collaboration with various stakeholders to jointly implement sanitation CSR programmes for the community. Paljaya has already executed collaborative CSR programmes with several companies, including the construction of BIOPAL septic tanks in Pancoran with PT Sucofindo, the construction of BIOPAL septic tanks in Semper Barat with PT PLN, and most recently, the revitalisation of communal sanitation facilities (MCK) with PAM Jaya.
“Sanitation programmes have a direct impact on health and environmental quality. We invite private companies, State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and Regional State-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) to collaborate on sanitation CSR programmes so that the benefits can be felt more widely by the community,” said Untung. Through these collaborations, it is hoped that more areas in Jakarta will be able to obtain better sanitation facilities. For Paljaya, this CSR programme to build collective awareness of good sanitation is an important investment in public health and urban sustainability. With proper management, wastewater treatment systems not only meet environmental obligations but also support the creation of a healthier city that is safe from wastewater pollution.
