Palestinian Technocratic Committee Ready to Manage Gaza

Gaza (ANTARA) - The Palestinian transitional technocratic committee, consisting of 15 members tasked with managing the Gaza Strip, affirmed on Friday (31/7) that they are fully prepared to assume responsibility for the enclave following reports concerning a Hamas disarmament pact. The committee, officially known as the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza (NCAG), stated in a declaration that it has completed extensive institutional and operational preparations over recent months.

These measures are intended to facilitate the takeover of Gaza’s administration, restore essential public services, strengthen the rule of law, ease the delivery of humanitarian aid, and lead reconstruction and recovery efforts. Describing the upcoming task as immense, the committee noted that rebuilding Gaza will require sustained international commitment, substantial financial resources, and close cooperation among all partners.

On Thursday (30/7), US President Donald Trump stated that the Peace Council had reached an agreement for the full disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. Palestinian sources told Xinhua on Friday that Hamas has informed mediators of its approval regarding the final draft of a roadmap for the second phase of a Gaza ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, in a press statement, Ghazi Hamad, a member of the Hamas negotiating delegation, stated that Hamas and other Palestinian factions have reached an understanding regarding the implementation mechanism for the second phase of the agreement, including a phased process for documenting and storing weapons under the supervision of the NCAG. Hamad rejected reports describing the arrangement as disarmament, asserting that the issue of weaponry remains linked to the implementation of other agreement provisions, specifically the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the commencement of reconstruction efforts.
