Ramallah (ANTARA) — President Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday (17 February) extended Ramadan greetings to all Palestinian people both at home and abroad, as well as to Arab and Islamic nations.

President Abbas conveyed his wishes for the observance of Ramadan to the Palestinian people, commending their steadfastness on their own homeland.

He also expressed his hope that this occasion would bring closer the realisation of Palestinian aspirations for freedom and independence, including the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Furthermore, he called on Palestinians to strengthen their solidarity and unity amid the difficult conditions facing their country, praying that deceased Palestinians be granted forgiveness, the wounded be granted recovery, and detainees be granted their freedom.

President Abbas also extended greetings to Arab and Islamic nations, expressing his hope that the holy month of Ramadan would bring goodness and blessings, strengthen unity, and support the aspirations of their peoples for development and progress.
