Palestinian People to Hold Absentee Prayer for Fallen TNI Soldiers in Lebanon

The Palestinian government has conveyed condolences to the family of the late Captain Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, who perished during a United Nations peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. Zulmi died due to an Israeli attack in southern Lebanon on Sunday (29/3).

The condolences were directly expressed by the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulfattah A.K. Al-Sattari, during a visit to the mourning house in Kampung Cikendal, Cipageran Village, North Cimahi Subdistrict, Cimahi City, on Thursday (2/4).

“On behalf of the State of Palestine, President Mahmoud Abbas, and the entire Palestinian people, we are here to extend our condolences to the family of the deceased. The family of the deceased is part of our family,” said Abdulfattah.

He stated that, despite coming from different countries, the Palestinian people also feel a deep loss over the death of Captain Zulmi. The deceased is regarded as a martyr for peace who fell while carrying out a noble duty.

Abdulfattah also strongly condemned the tragedy that killed the three TNI soldiers, which occurred due to an attack on the Indonesian peacekeeping base.

“The fallen victims are noble heroes, the pride of Palestine and all free people in the world,” he explained.

As a form of respect, Muslims in Palestine will hold absentee prayers, including at Al-Aqsa Mosque. He noted that the Indonesian people well understand the suffering that the Palestinian nation has endured.

“Tomorrow in mosques in Palestine, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, absentee prayers will be performed,” he added.
