Palestinian Detainees Suffer Torture and Medical Neglect
The Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported a significant increase in the number of sick detainees in Ofer Prison, in the occupied West Bank. This is attributed to harsh detention procedures and inadequate healthcare for the prisoners.
In a special report released on Wednesday (25/2), based on visits conducted between January and February 2026, the PPS revealed that detainees are frequently subjected to repeated beatings. Without adequate medical care, their health conditions are now at a worrying point.
The PPS report details several specific cases that illustrate the suffering of the detainees:
The PPS emphasizes that the above cases are not isolated incidents, but rather a reflection of the serious health situation faced by all detainees.
“These cases are not isolated incidents, and the detainees are facing a serious health situation as a result of the ongoing policy of medical neglect in Ofer Prison and other Israeli prisons,” the PPS said in an official statement.
