Palestinian Ambassador Condemns Israel's Abduction of Indonesian Citizens

Jakarta — The Embassy of the State of Palestine to Indonesia condemned the actions of Israeli forces who detained participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF). In its official statement, it stressed that the flotilla was conducting a humanitarian mission to deliver aid to the people in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The occupying military action intercepting them in international waters violated international law and the principles of human rights.

‘The Embassy of the State of Palestine to the Republic of Indonesia strongly condemns the Israeli criminal acts carried out by the occupying army against the participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla Armada (Global Sumud Flotilla/Asfuthur Ash-Shumud), who are heroes defending human rights, justice, and international law,’ the embassy quoted in its official statement to RI, on Tuesday (19/5/2026).

The Palestinian Embassy conveyed thanks and the highest appreciation to the Indonesian government and people. It said RI has consistently defended the Palestinian people.

‘We stand with all participants of this fleet, especially our brothers and sisters from Indonesia, and we pray to Allah SWT that they may return home safely.’

The Palestinian Embassy said it was not surprised by Israel’s actions. This is because Zionists have slaughtered civilians in the Gaza Strip.

The miseries caused by Israel did not begin only in 2023. For decades, this Zionist entity has occupied the land of Palestine.

‘We condemn these criminal acts and state that all forms of crimes committed by the Israeli army or illegal settlers will never shake the steadfastness of our people,’ the Palestinian Embassy statement read.

‘On the contrary, this will only strengthen our will to continue to endure on our homeland and to continue the resistance until Palestine and all holy sites of Islam and Christianity are liberated,’ it added.
