Palestine to Hold Prayer for the Absent for Three Fallen TNI Soldiers in Lebanon
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CIMAHI – The Palestinian people will carry out prayers for the absent and collective prayers for the three TNI soldiers who fell during the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon on Monday (30/3/2026). Palestine shares in the mourning over the deaths of the three soldiers in an attack in southern Lebanon, which borders the country led by President Mahmoud Abbas.
The plan for the absent prayer was conveyed by the Palestinian Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulfattah Al Sattari, after paying condolences at the home of Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar in Cikendal Village, RT 01/04, Cipageran Ward, North Cimahi Subdistrict, Cimahi City, on Thursday (2/4/2026).
“Tomorrow in mosques in Palestine, including Al-Aqsa Mosque, absent prayers will be performed. The deceased, God willing, are martyrs in the sight of Allah SWT; they are martyrs of peace. It is an honour because the deceased passed away on the Palestinian border,” said Abdulfattah.
The three TNI soldiers who fell in the incident are Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon. He fell on Sunday (29/3/2026) around 20:44 Lebanese time during an attack at the headquarters of the Indobatt UNP 7-1 Peacekeeping Force in Achid Alqusayr Village, Lebanon. Meanwhile, Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar and Sergeant Major Muhammad Nur Ichwan fell on Monday (30/3/2026).
The two soldiers died in an explosion incident while the Escort Team of Company B, Task Force Yonmek XXIII-S/UNIFIL, which is part of the Sector East Mobile Reserve (SEMR), was escorting a convoy of the Combat Support Service Unit (CSSU) as part of duties to provide support from the Eastern Sector Headquarters UNIFIL United Nations Post (UNP) 7-2 to the Task Force Yonmek TNI Konga XXIII-S/UNIFIL Headquarters at UNP 7-1.
The sorrow over the loss of the three in the peacekeeping mission is not only grief for the families and the Indonesian nation but also a loss for the Palestinian nation. Abdulfattah strengthened the family’s hearts by stating that Captain Zulmi is a martyr of peace.
Abdulfattah stated that the Palestinian Embassy strongly condemns the aerial attack on the Indonesian peacekeeping force headquarters. The party responsible is referred to in the letter as the ‘Israeli occupier’.
“The fallen victims are three noble heroes, who are the pride of Palestine and all free peoples of the world,” said Abdulfattah.
