Palestine Responds to Fallen Indonesian Soldiers in Lebanon, Calls Them "Heroes of Pride"
The Palestinian Embassy in Jakarta has conveyed profound condolences over the deaths of three TNI soldiers who were on duty in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. Through its official statement, the Palestinian Embassy extends its sorrow to the President, the government, and the entire Indonesian people over the falling of the three heroic soldiers in that region of Lebanon.
“The Embassy of the State of Palestine to Indonesia strongly condemns the airstrike on the Indonesian peacekeeping forces’ headquarters carried out by the Israeli occupier, which resulted in the deaths of three noble heroes who are the pride of us and all free peoples of the world,” reads the official statement from the Palestinian Embassy, Thursday (2/4/2026).
“Their sacrifice will always be remembered as a form of respect and appreciation. We affirm that we are one nation, and our strength lies in our unity in defending common goals and upholding justice. It also serves as evidence of Indonesia’s highly respected humanitarian role for the wounded heroes,” the statement continues in the same paragraph.
The Embassy also added a prayer excerpt for the victims to be granted the best place by God’s side. Ramallah also sends a message of resilience to the bereaved families.
“We beseech Allah SWT to bestow His vast mercy and forgiveness upon them, to place them in His spacious paradise, and to have mercy on the souls of the heroes and martyrs who have sacrificed for peace and humanity. We also beseech Allah SWT to grant patience and resilience to the bereaved families,” the release states.
This incident occurs amid the escalation of massive Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese territory under the pretext of military operations to eradicate the strength of the Hezbollah group.
The attacks targeting various points in southern Lebanon are claimed by Israel as a defensive step to neutralise rocket threats at the border, but in fact, those attacks struck civilian objects and international facilities, including the UNIFIL peacekeeping headquarters where the Indonesian soldiers fell.
In response to the incident at the UN forum, the Israeli side issued a claim that the deaths of the TNI soldiers were caused by a failed launch or use of weaponry by Hezbollah in the vicinity.
However, the Republic of Indonesia’s government firmly rejects that one-sided claim and continues to urge an independent and transparent investigation to uncover the actual facts on the ground, as well as to ensure legal accountability for the attack on the peacekeeping personnel.
