Palestina Resmi Buka Kantor Penghubung BoP-Gaza, RI Beri Dukungan

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Palestinian authorities have officially established a liaison office to strengthen coordination and communication with the Board of Peace (BoP). This move is part of Palestine’s preparations to carry out governance and stabilization tasks in the Gaza Strip.

The establishment of the office was announced by Palestinian Vice President Hussein Al-Sheikh in a letter to the Board of Peace’s Special Representative for Gaza, Nickolay Mladenov, as quoted by the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Thursday (26/2/2026).

In the letter, Al-Sheikh stated that the liaison office is directly led by Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa and is ready to carry out its full duties in Gaza.

“The office is fully prepared to carry out its responsibilities, ensuring clear and organised channels for coordination and communication,” Al-Sheikh wrote.

He added that all communication with the Board of Peace will be conducted within the framework of supporting the political track led by US President Donald Trump, including the 20-Point Peace Plan and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2803 (2025).

According to Al-Sheikh, the establishment of the liaison office, the Office of the Board of Peace’s Special Representative, and the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza are concrete transitional steps to support long-term stability in Gaza and the West Bank.

“These steps will help alleviate the suffering of our people without creating a duality of government, law, and security,” he said.

Support for the Palestinian move has come from Indonesia. Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono welcomed the establishment of the liaison office during a meeting with Palestinian Foreign Minister and Expatriates Varsen Aghabekian Shahin on the sidelines of the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Sugiono believes that the presence of the liaison office can strengthen coordination with the Board of Peace in promoting sustainable peace in Gaza. He also reaffirmed Indonesia’s involvement in the Board of Peace and the International Stabilization Force (ISF) is humanitarian in nature.

“The main focus of the Indonesian contingent is the protection of civilians and humanitarian support,” said Sugiono.

Furthermore, Sugiono reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to ensuring that the transition process in Palestine proceeds in accordance with international law, maintains the sustainability of the ceasefire, and promotes a credible political process towards a two-state solution.
