Palestine launches 'Our Blood is One' blood donation campaign to support Gaza patients
Palestine’s Health Minister Majed Abu Ramadan announced the launch of the 10th ‘Our Blood is One’ blood donation campaign on Saturday (30 May), aimed at supporting patients and wounded in the Gaza Strip. The initiative also seeks to strengthen the national blood supply. Abu Ramadan stated the campaign runs from Sunday morning to Thursday at government hospitals, the Central Blood Bank in Ramallah, and mobile blood units, with donation centres operating daily from 8:00 to 18:00 local time. He added that blood donation activities will also take place in the field through collaborations with national institutions, civil society groups, and academic bodies to facilitate public participation and broader engagement. Abu Ramadan emphasised that the ‘Our Blood is One’ campaign is more than just a blood donation initiative. He described it as a symbol of Palestinian unity and solidarity, and a tangible expression of support for patients and the wounded amid difficult conditions. He further urged the public to participate widely in the campaign, stressing the importance of collective solidarity and support for the health sector’s ability to continue providing essential services.
