The Palembang District Prosecutor’s Office in South Sumatra searched the city’s Transportation Agency office on Monday as part of an investigation into alleged corruption in a street light maintenance project. The Head of the Intelligence Section at the Palembang Prosecutor’s Office, Mochamad Ali Rizza, confirmed the search. He explained that the action was carried out based on a search warrant from the Head of the Palembang Prosecutor’s Office and a court order from the Palembang District Court dated 29 June 2026. “This search is being conducted as part of the investigation team’s efforts to gather sufficient evidence to identify the parties responsible for this case,” said Ali Rizza. The project in question was funded by the Palembang City Revised Regional Budget for the 2025 fiscal year. During the search, the investigation team seized a number of documents and items suspected to be related to the case to be used as evidence in the investigation process. In addition to searching the Transportation Agency office, on the same day the Palembang Prosecutor’s Office investigation team also conducted a search at the home of a witness located in the OPI housing complex.
