Palembang Embarkation Departs Two Delayed Hajj Pilgrims
The Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) of the Palembang Embarkation in South Sumatra departed two prospective pilgrims from flight group (kloter) 2 who had been delayed due to health factors, enabling them to fly to the holy land and join kloter 3. Following the send-off of kloter 3 at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin Airport in Palembang on Saturday, the Head of PPIH Palembang Embarkation, M. Arkan Nurwahiddin, stated that the pilgrims in question were Suhana Marudin (77) from Lahat Regency and Siti Mahmudah (56) from Palembang City. The pair had no choice but to postpone their departure with kloter 2 to undergo medical treatment. According to him, the medical team declared both fit to fly after undergoing strict observation at Siti Fatimah Hospital. The presence of these two worshippers completes the manifest for Kloter 03 to 444 people. This group is a combination of pilgrims from East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKUT), Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI), and Palembang City. Arkan explained that to date, the Palembang Embarkation has flown a total of 1,327 worshippers to Madinah. As part of the first wave, they will land at Amir Mohammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport (AMAA). During eight days in Madinah, the pilgrims will perform the Arba’in worship at the Prophet’s Mosque and undertake visits to the tomb of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and other historical sites. He urged the pilgrims to maintain adequate hydration and physical health while active in Madinah before eventually departing for Mecca to perform the peak of the Hajj rites.
