PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has commenced functional operation of the Palembang-Betung toll road’s Kramasan-Pangkalan Balai section to support the smooth flow of traffic during the 2026 Eid exodus period. The operation of this section is expected to facilitate traffic flow, reduce potential vehicle congestion, and provide a safer, more comfortable and efficient travel alternative for road users.

The Palembang-Betung toll road’s Kramasan-Pangkalan Balai section will be operationalised from 13 March 2026 to 29 March 2026, daily from 07:00 WIT until 17:00 WIT. The section has been designated exclusively for Class I vehicles (excluding buses) and will operate in both directions. Whilst travelling through this functional section, road users are urged to drive at a maximum speed of 50 km/h to ensure collective safety and security.

The section will operate under limited conditions with intensive oversight while prioritising road user safety. Although functional in nature, all infrastructure opened has undergone inspection and safety procedures to ensure it is ready for operation and safe for the public. Operating hours may be adjusted at any time based on police discretion. Additionally, the section’s operation is supported by traffic management, supporting signage, and field personnel readiness to ensure safe and smooth travel during the exodus period.

“In its operation, Hutama Karya continues to maintain active coordination with the Police and relevant agencies to ensure traffic flow and provide security and comfort for all road users,” said Acting Executive Vice President (EVP) and Company Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani on Thursday (12 March).

As a form of support for road user safety and comfort during functional operation, Hutama Karya has deployed toll road service personnel, increased patrol intensity, added signage and safety equipment, and strengthened synergy with relevant stakeholders. Road users are urged to always comply with traffic signs, speed limits, and instructions from field personnel.

“We urge road users to prepare their journey properly, maintain their physical condition, and always prioritise safety. If assistance is needed or an emergency situation arises on the Palembang-Betung toll road, road users can contact the Palembang-Betung toll road call centre at +62 813-9999-6691,” concluded Hamdani.
