Palayja launches education program

JAKARTA: PT PAM Lyonnaise Jaya (Palyja) has launched a clean water education campaign for 100 elementary schools in the western part of Greater Jakarta.

The program, organized in cooperation with the Supervisory Team of the School Health Program of Jakarta, was officially opened here on Wednesday by Jakarta Vice Governor for Social Welfare, Djailani.

The water program, which also includes workshops on clean water for elementary school teachers, is aimed at building understanding of the importance of clean water in daily life, and the preservation of raw water sources.

"The water program for the elementary schools has been developed to start educating teachers and students on water provision and preservation," said Pierre Alla, the president director of PT. Palyja during the launching ceremony.

He said the issues to be covered in the teacher training program included the water cycle, raw water provision, treatment processes, distribution and customer service.

Palyja is a subsidiary of Ondeo Services of France, previously known as Lyonnaise des Eaux.
