Palangka Raya Pupils’ Joy as They Return to Classroom Learning

Children’s laughter and excited shouts filled the grounds of SD Negeri 4 Menteng in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, on Thursday (29 October 2026), as they gathered with their friends again. After two months of learning from home because of smoke from forest and land fires, pupils in the city have finally returned to the classroom.

The Palangka Raya Education Office has resumed face-to-face learning after air conditions improved, following a period when smoke from forest and land fires had blanketed the area.

The return to school was eagerly awaited, as pupils can once again meet their teachers and friends and take part in lessons directly in the classroom.
