The Palangka Raya City Government in Central Kalimantan is continuing to strengthen the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through the Palangka Raya Fair, held as part of the 68th anniversary celebrations of Palangka Raya City.

Mayor of Palangka Raya, Fairid Naparin, stated that the fair is also part of the 61st anniversary of the Palangka Raya City Government. “This activity, which carries the spirit of collaboration, serves as a promotional platform as well as expanding market access for local MSME players,” he said in Palangka Raya on Saturday.

In line with this year’s city anniversary theme, “Palangka Raya, City of Collaboration”, the government is encouraging synergy between business players, the government, the private sector, communities, and the public to enhance the competitiveness of local products so they can penetrate wider markets. Fairid explained that through this activity, the government is not only providing marketing space but also opening opportunities for business partnerships, information exchange, and strengthening business networks among MSMEs.

Cross-sector collaboration is considered a crucial factor in improving product quality, innovation, and the ability to compete amidst an increasingly competitive market. The Palangka Raya City Government views MSMEs as one of the main pillars of regional economic growth. Therefore, various empowerment programmes continue to be strengthened, ranging from promotional facilitation, human resource capacity building, and expansion of marketing access, to the development of a creative economy based on local potential.

“Through the Palangka Raya Fair, the government hopes that the region’s superior products will become better known to the public, gain a wider market, and simultaneously improve the welfare of MSME players,” he said. The spirit of collaboration, which is the theme of the Palangka Raya City anniversary, is also expected to become a shared foundation in building a business ecosystem that is resilient, innovative, and competitive, thereby making a real contribution to regional economic growth.

Acting Head of the Palangka Raya City Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Industry Office (DPKUKMP), Samsul Rizal, stated that the Palangka Raya Fair is being held until 21 July 2026 at the Indoor Multipurpose Sports Hall Courtyard on Jalan Tjilik Riwut Km 5, Palangka Raya. The event features 45 indoor booths occupied by government agencies, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD), and other business players, 35 MSME tents showcasing various regional superior products, and 50 culinary bazaar tents.

He explained that, in general, the Palangka Raya Fair is held to promote the region’s potential, inform about investment opportunities, and facilitate business players in conducting promotions on a larger scale. “In addition, it is also in the context of supporting national economic recovery, attracting investors, expanding market share both domestically and internationally, as well as spurring innovation, creativity, and the competitiveness of MSME players,” he said. He also invited the entire community to always protect the environment in support of Palangka Raya City as a city that is advanced, harmonious, and prosperous for all, through a smart environment, a smart social community, and a smart economy.
