Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, representing the Government and President Prabowo Subianto, conveyed thanks to officials and the public for the smooth, orderly, and successful implementation of this year’s Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return flows.

“We, as the government and on behalf of the President, first and foremost wish to express our sincere thanks to all officials and the entire public. Yesterday and today, several survey institutions have reported that the one-month process of observing the holy month of Ramadan, followed by the Eid homecoming and return flows, proceeded well, orderly, and smoothly,” Prasetyo said at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He stated that the smoothness of the occasion was evident from the series of public activities during Ramadan through the Eid period, which passed without significant obstacles.

According to him, this achievement resulted from cooperation between the government and all elements of society, supported by prior planning to ensure optimal mobility.

Prasetyo added that several survey institutions also recorded high public satisfaction with this year’s homecoming and return arrangements.

“Although there are certainly notes for improvement, praise be to God, we have all passed through it, and the public has expressed their satisfaction. But this is the result of our collective cooperation and planning designed to ensure all public activities run well and smoothly,” he said.

Previously, public satisfaction with the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming arrangements reached 80.8%, based on a survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia, reflecting positive evaluation of government services amid mobility of around 47 million citizens.

Founder and Chief Researcher of Indikator Politik Indonesia, Burhanuddin Muhtadi, stated that the assessment came from all respondents, whether they undertook the homecoming or not.

“Overall public satisfaction with the 2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming arrangements reached 80.8%,” he said in a release of survey findings titled Public Evaluation of the 2026 Eid al-Fitr Homecoming Arrangements, conducted online in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4).

He added that this achievement was relatively stable compared to the previous year, which was in the range of 80 to 81%. Even, around 81% of respondents rated this year’s homecoming traffic management as better than last year. The rating from homecomers was slightly higher, at 82.7%.

Additionally, perceptions of safety also showed a positive trend. As many as 79.8% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that traffic accident rates during the homecoming period had declined, both for minor, moderate, and fatal categories.

The survey, conducted from 29 March to 4 April 2026 with 1,200 respondents and a margin of error of about ±2.9%, also indicated that positive assessments were relatively even across various demographic groups.
