Palace Speaks Out on Didit Prabowo's Visit to Jokowi's Home in Solo
Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi stated that the visit by President Prabowo Subianto’s son, Ragowo Hediprasetyo, known as Didit, to the residence of the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, in Solo on Thursday (18/6) was to foster cordial relations. He said Didit’s visit coincided with his attendance at the celebration of Malam 1 Suro, or 1 Muharram in the Islamic calendar, in Solo. “It was a social visit. He happened to be in Solo because of 1 Muharram yesterday, so he paid a visit,” Pras said at Prabowo’s residence in Hambalang, West Java, on Friday (19/6). When asked if there was a special message entrusted by Prabowo to Jokowi through Didit, Pras answered briefly. “None,” he said. On Thursday (18/6) afternoon, Didit held a closed-door meeting lasting 30 minutes with Jokowi. Didit arrived at Jokowi’s residence at around 11:02 WIB. He stepped out of a car with the registration plate AB 1553 UH and went straight inside. Didit was seen carrying several books. Afterwards, Didit emerged from Jokowi’s house at around 11:40 WIB. He got straight into his car after bidding farewell and shaking hands with Jokowi. Didit declined to reveal the content of his discussion with Jokowi. He mentioned his visit to Jokowi’s home followed his attendance at the Malam 1 Suro event at Mangkunegaran, Solo. Jokowi also escorted Didit to his front gate and waved to him. Like Didit, Jokowi also declined to disclose the content of the meeting. “Just stopped by, after one Suro,” Didit said from inside the car on Thursday (18/6).
