Palace signals Said Iqbal will join the Red and White Cabinet
Jakarta (ANTARA) - State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi has signalled that Indonesian Trade Union Confederation (KSPI) President and Labour Party President Said Iqbal will enter the Red and White Cabinet. Prasetyo, responding to reporters’ questions at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Thursday, said his office is currently discussing the matter. “We are discussing it,” said Prasetyo. He mentioned the position Said Iqbal is likely to assume relates to the field he has long championed, namely labour and manpower issues. “Yes, it is likely connected to his struggle so far. Labourers, manpower,” he said. However, Prasetyo has yet to detail the post to be given to Said Iqbal. He stressed that discussions regarding the assignment are still ongoing. “Wait, it is still being discussed,” he said. Furthermore, a ceremony for the presentation of credentials by several ambassadors to President Prabowo Subianto was also scheduled for the same day. “For effectiveness, we plan it on the same day,” he said. Nevertheless, Prasetyo declined to elaborate on whether Said Iqbal would also be inaugurated on that day. “Await further information,” he concluded.
